Getting started with Raiser’s Edge NXT at MA
Overview: In 2020 Marin Academy switched from a locally hosted Raiser's Edge server to a cloud based one (NXT). Access to the RE database is now accomplished through a Web browser, though some features are still only available through the "Database View" which is a virtual version which looks similar to the classic local Application.
Instructions for getting access to RE-NXT:
- Request a login from the Tech office (Most of you are all set already, just click the link below)

Login to Blackbaud at https://signin.blackbaud.com/ (credentials are tied to your MA email account, so it’s Single-Sign On)
- Click the hamburger menu in the upper left and choose Raiser’s Edge NXT
This initial view is the main screen of RE NXT, you can work in RE right from here.
- To get to the classic/Database View version, Click the cylinder icon in the upper right and choose “Install Workspace”. This installs the Citrix application so we have “Full” access to our RE instance that has a more familiar look/feel as the locally hosted application. At the end of the install it asks about connecting using a login, leave this unchecked.
- After the Workspace installation, click the cylinder icon again and choose Open Database View. This downloads a “launch.ica” file that uses the Citric Workspace app to connect to our RE instance. This is slower than connecting to RE from the School’s campus, be patient while it loads.
