Controlling 4K AppleTVs from an iPhone/iPad

OVERVIEW

This article contains steps to control an 4K model AppleTV from your iPhone/iPad for ease of use/typing. Please note, you MUST have the IOS device on MA-Staff in order for this to work.

INSTRUCTIONS

Open Control Center (Swipe down from top right corner of the screen)
Tap the remote icon at the bottom
Select the TV you would like to control from the drop down menu at the top of your screen
When asked, enter the 4-digit code shown on the AppleTV
To bring up a text input box, tap and hold on the touch area.

Troubleshooting

If the remote icon does not appear in your control center:

Go to Settings
Select Control Center
Tap the green ‘+’ next to the Apple TV Remote
