OVERVIEW
This article explain the 5 things you need to know to get starting using Ring Central, MA's phone system:
TL;DR
- Don't dial 9 first. You just either dial a phone number or extension.
- Sign in to Ring Central to activate your account. Use Google to login and follow the prompts to complete account setup.
- Open the RingCentral app installed on your computer. Sign into that too. Download it here if it's not installed.
- In this app, find the Phone and Inbox tabs on the left. The phone tab is for making phone calls. The inbox tab has sub-tabs for your voicemails, text messages, and faxes.
- Record your greeting and set your VM PIN. Go to Settings > Phone, then press the Edit button next to voicemail. Following the instructions to create a voicemail greeting and set a pin.
- Optionally, hide functions like Video, Message, and Workspace. Go to Settings > Customize tabs and drag unused functions to the bottom.

- You may need to complete a security question, like what is your mother's maiden name?
- Open the Ring Central app installed on your computer. Sign into that too.
- The app will be in the Applications folder of your mac. If you use Microsoft Windows or the app is missing, you can download RingCentral here.
