OVERVIEW
Reporting phishing email helps keep the community and your inbox safe! Reporting them in one of the two following ways also keeps you from inadvertently failing a phishing test (forwarding phishing emails to the tech support email account may trigger a failure). :) There are two ways to report phishing emails:
- Using Gmails built-in "Report spam" button
- Using the Phish Alert tool in your MA Gmail account (preferred!)
This article will describe how to use the Phish Alert button, which is our preferred method for reporting phishing emails.
INSTRUCTIONS
- Open the email in Gmail using a web browser such as Chrome.
- On the right side, click on the Phish Alert button, which is a orange hook icon and looks like this:
- A side panel will open. Press the blue "Phish Alert" button to report the phishing email.
- That's it!
